Every Audience has a Bias.
What I mean is that you are always working with a certain type of person.
You may think
“Yes Tim, I know what a niche is..”
But you have to look closely at the individuals within the niche.
And you will notice something.
Most, if not all the people in that niche will have certain things in common.
It could be their hairstyle, taste of music, choice of clothes, the color of their eyes.. basically anything.
There is usually a theme there, a common denominator.
Taking a Closer Look at Your Audience
Obviously there are many types of people. A niche can be dominated by one certain type or by multiple types.
Sometimes you even see polar opposites that have a shared interest.
This is rare, but not completely uncommon.
What you will NEVER find is every type of person in one niche.
That’s why it is extremely important to understand what ‘type’ of people you are doing business with.
And this is exactly where many businesses get it wrong..
They can’t or won’t identify the type(s) of people in their niche.
They don’t bother to familiarize themselves with their customers, because they believe everyone can be their customer.
Why it's better to not advertise at all than to advertise to everyone
Unless you have a marketing budget of billions and billions of dollars. You really don’t want to advertise to everyone.
Why?
Because it’s extremely inefficient!
It’s never going to work.
By trying to appeal to everyone at the same time, you end up appealing to no one.
If you don’t learn to speak the language of your perfect customer.. The type of people who truly can benefit your product or service..
You’ll disappear into the eternal void!
Together with your hard earned money, your time and your efforts.
Knowing the Customer = Closing the Customer
By getting to know your customers, and understanding what ‘type(s)’ of people you do business with, you can tailor not only your product or service, but even your choice of words to better suit them.
Using their language and showing that you genuinely understand your audience significantly increases your chances at closing.
So, get to know your customers! This allows you to appeal to them more directly. You will have a much easier time advertising if you do this. Give it a shot.
